PH Election Results 2016, Duterte Continues to Lead Presidential Elections, Marcos leads Vice-Presidential Race

MANILA, Philippines - Rodrigo Duterte continues to lead the presidential elections, while Bongbong Marcos leads the vice-presidential race on May 9, 2016. This is based on the partial unofficial results from COMELEC’s transparency server, as of 7 p.m. (ABS)

The voting precincts were officially closed at 5 p.m., but reportedly, there are still some that are conducting elections because some of the PCOS machines had bogged down.

As of 8 p.m.

As of 9:09 pm:

There are still more than 50 million uncounted votes, so it’s still anybody’s ballgame. Many Netizens expressed their dismay on the poor showing of Miriam Santiago, which was the last, based on recent reports.

Santiago had been topping the polls in majority of schools and universities nationwide and the election results were not reflective of the votes of the youth.

Rodrigo Duterte, the tough talking mayor of Davao, had his ‘miting de avance’ in Luneta and the throng of people who attended the rally outnumbered any of the other candidates.

If this can serve as an indication of the people who would vote for Duterte, then Digong will continue to maintain his lead.

Second to Duterte was Grace Poe; next was Mar Roxas, then Jojo Binay, Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Roy Seneres.

For the vice-presidency, Leni Robredo came in second, Alan Peter Cayetano, third. Chiz Escudero came next, Antonio Trillanes IV and Gringo Honasan.

Meanwhile, Netizens have trooped to Twitter to tweet about showbiz couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla and their controversial election pictures.

COMELEC had prohibited voters to take pictures inside the voting area and of their ballots.

Reportedly, the couple didn’t violate any rule. Read more HERE.

Hopefully, the smooth tallying of votes would proceed until a winner has been proclaimed. The 2016 PH election results must also be respected and accepted by all the candidates and their followers.
